John had another good night sleep last night. Another night of no diuretics works well. I
think we overdid the walking yesterday, so will back off a bit today. He walked 2.53 miles yesterday and his legs
are feeling it.
He got his meds this morning, lots of new drugs for us to
learn about. He will be on prednisone
for some time now. One of the side effects
is diabetes, but he didn't need any insulin today.
Occupational Therapy was in and were impressed with how much
he has been doing.
Last month when we were in the hospital because of the drive
line infection I cancelled my mammogram which was scheduled for that week. When we got home I rescheduled it for
tomorrow. I cancelled it this morning
partially because we are scheduled for discharge training tomorrow morning.
We were told this morning that Dr MacLellan will be doing
rounds this morning. Dr Robb MacLellan
is Chair and Head of the UW Medicine Division of Cardiology. Yup, the big dog. He does rounds a few times a year. When he came in, he knew all about John and
his condition. He agreed the diuretic
should only be 7am to 7pm, probably move to oral diuretic tomorrow morning. Most of the rest of the conversation was well
over our heads. He did enjoy our view
and told us that his wife was one of the UW architects.
We also have medicine training with Pharmacy scheduled on
Wednesday, so maybe things are moving quicker than we thought.
We've taken two walks today, one lap each.
Colleen
