Seattle (a bonus/minus day)
As posted earlier, we were unable to go to Bremerton/Poulsbo due to a sunken tug in the waterway. As a result, we got to Seattle a day early. Many passengers were thrilled, most taking a tour to Chihuly Gardens or the National Nordic Museum and Ballard locks.
Even though we live in the area, we had not visited the Seattle waterfront since shortly before the old elevated viaduct was torn down. We took an UBER as our driver, John, didn't want to drive into town even though our car is at the pier. Since it is a weekend day parking at the waterfront would be difficult. What was a once 'seedy' area of Seattle is now really quite nice. An amazing makeover. We loved it.
We have been to the locks and to the Chihuly Museum, so are eager to hear about the Nordic Museum. Some of our table mates are going so we will get a report at dinner.
We have two couples that are normally with us at meals. One couple is from Coronado California and the other couple is from North Carolina. Nice people. They used to live next door to each other in Coronado and went to the same church. The dining room is quite noisy and John has trouble following conversations at the eight person table.
Food has been quite good, especially the salads and dressings. John thinks the best entree was a beef brisket, but it was his first, so what does he know?
John took our garment bag to the car this afternoon, to join the bag we took our earlier. One of the ship's crew was outside getting Domino's Pizza delivered. He and the driver seemed to know each other. A different crew member said that pizza guy get deliveries often.
The weather has been terrific, not a drop of rain this week. We will get off the boat first thing tomorrow and drive home. We will update when we cruise next.
