May 19, Wrangell
Saw our first piece of litter in Alaska Monday. Followed up by a second piece. Alaska is amazingly free of litter.
The ship docks right at the edge of town. They have one very narrow ramp to handle all the
ship’s passengers getting off and on.
This caused a very long backup, especially returning. The ship’s staff
ended up metering the passengers into groups of ten. Finally, they pulled the people with walkers,
us, and those with wheelchairs and had them go as a group, bypassing the
line. Which caused a bit of guilt.
We did find a really cute owl as our Wrangell Christmas tree
ornament.
