May 18, Sunday Glacier Bay
There are many glaciers in Glacier Bay. We visited two of them Sunday; Lamplugh and
Margerie. We have been to both several
times in the past. We missed seeing and
taking photos of Lamplugh on Sunday as we had a chance to talk with Sandra, the
Food and Beverage Director.
We have known Sandra for a decade or more. On our first cruise after transplant, she
arranged for us to see the menus from the dining room and have those meals
served to us in our stateroom. We were
at our most vulnerable then with the transplant so recent. Cardiology was not in favor of the cruise
until we proposed this eating arrangement.
Sanda made it possible, and we are really grateful for her help.
Internet in Glacier Bay was the slowest it has been on this
trip. The mountains on either side of us
were steep and high, making satellite connections iffy. But it is far better
than the old days on ships when dial up internet was all we had. There was not open seas internet.
We started leaving Glacier Bay around 11:30 and headed to a new port for us, Wrangell.
