January 30th update for Colleen's back surgery

 Hi all,

We met with the surgeon this morning and liked him.  He gave us some information about the surgery that we did not know.  He is going to attach the two rods to the 8^th and 12^th vertebrae, one on each side of the spine.  He also told us that if the surgery were not done, that the back would slowly bend forward.  Colleen’s back will be able to bend above and below the rods, so there will be some flexibility.

 

We got tomorrow’s check in information for Colleen’s surgery this afternoon.  We are scheduled for check in at 10:15 and surgery is to happen around one PM.   We are the third surgery of the day for the surgeon, so that time could slide. 

I will post again tomorrow after the surgery when the doctor lets me know how it went.
