RV road trip 9.15 & 9.16.2018

We left West Yellowstone this morning and headed north into Montana.  We drove along the Gallatin River and stopped often for fishing.  Mostly without any luck.  In the mid-afternoon, there was some activity but not a lot.  John finally figured out that the fish were looking for really small bugs, even though there was a massive amount of grass hoppers.  The fish didn’t rise to hoppers.  It would have been fun if they did!

We drove farther than we had originally planned and are spending the night in Butte, Montana.  TV stations refer to Butte as the mining town, as if everyone knew that nickname.  Tomorrow we will head over to Philipsburg for some more fishing.  Hopefully it will be better.  A two day license for out of state fishermen is $50.00.  It was $25.00 for a week’s license in Yellowstone.

Today was fishing and travel.  We are in Hamilton, MT and plan to be in Ellensburg tomorrow.  Fishing was poor again.
