10.22.2017 update

Happy 27th Anniversary to us last Friday 10.20.2017.  For this Panama Canal cruise, we flew first class to Ft Lauderdale which was nice.  It also was better in isolating John from sneezes and coughs.   After checking our bags but before TSA, John realized that he had not left his pocket knife at home.  It cost close to the price of the knife to mail it home!  We did have TSA pre-check which was also nice. We arrived at our hotel at 12:30 on Saturday morning.  It was a long day.

Saturday we left on the hotel shuttle at 11 and were able to get right on to the ship and were having lunch by noon.  For dinner we are at a table for eight,  us and three other couples, all very nice.  One of the couples, Beverly and Richard from Florida, played trivia with us later in the evening.  We did well, but didn't win.  Later we saw a comedian, then went back to our cabin.  For this cruise, we upgraded to a mini suite, which has a larger 'living room' and a bathtub in the bathroom as well as two TV's.

Sunday we were at Princess Cays, a private island.  We took the ship's tender to the island and just walked around and had lunch.  Trivia again with Beverly and Richard was entertaining.

Next are two at sea days before we arrive in Cartagena, Colombia on Wednesday.
