04.18.2017 update
The latest biopsy came back great again. NSR, no significant rejection. That has consistently been the result and
that is what makes it possible to switch to the blood draw test. The
docs know that on Wednesday there was no rejection. The blood test on Thursday gave
a number that is used for a baseline.
Then all future tests should be close to Thursday's number. Thursday's allomap number was 37 so hopefully
all future tests will have a number close to 37. If the blood test result is far off, a biopsy
will be ordered.
All of the normal blood test results have been good. A couple are a bit out of range but the
doctors seem ok with them, so we are ok with them.
We mentioned last time that the number of pills per day is
down to 19. Good news about pills is
that we can now combine dinner pills with bedtime pills so that now we only
take pills twice per day, six in the morning and 13 at bed time. Additionally, where we have had to weigh,
check temperature and blood pressure twice daily since the transplant, now they
just need to be checked and recorded three times a week.
We have made it a "whole year" but our goal has
always been at least 20 years, so while we are happy with results so far, we
will continue to be vigilant and looking long term.
