9.19.2017 update from Skagway

In yesterday's post, we forgot to add a photo of two eagles that sat perched side by side in a tree near the dock all day long.  They would have been rich if they had been able to charge one dollar per photo.  Passengers, us included, clogged the path getting their photos.

Today, Tuesday  we are in Skagway, the gateway to the Yukon.  At least in the gold rush days.  Once again, we wandered around town, ducking into and out of the shops.  We went to a very narrow creek and watched salmon spawning and dying.  There are hundreds of dead fish lining the banks of the creek, bleached out and stinking.

It was a beautiful clear day, and none of the predicted rain.
