9.19.2017 update from Skagway
In yesterday's post, we forgot to add a photo of two eagles
that sat perched side by side in a tree near the dock all day long. They would have been rich if they had been
able to charge one dollar per photo.
Passengers, us included, clogged the path getting their photos.
Today, Tuesday we are
in Skagway, the gateway to the Yukon. At
least in the gold rush days. Once again,
we wandered around town, ducking into and out of the shops. We went to a very narrow creek and watched
salmon spawning and dying. There are
hundreds of dead fish lining the banks of the creek, bleached out and
stinking.
It was a beautiful clear day, and none of the predicted
rain.
