Monday morning
Early this morning they gave John a unit of blood. It seemed to perk him up a bit. As expected, the doctors were in early and
frequently.
He wanted me to order breakfast, yeah! Another sign of progress. He had about a half serving of rice cereal,
just a bite of toast (pretty dry), and a few bites of blueberry pancake. He also kept all his pills down.
Dr Mokadam and six others decided to up the speed of his
LVAD. They came back a couple of times
and seemed pleased with the readings.
They seem to think that his artificial Mitral Valve that was replace in
1996 may have something to do with the way he responded this past weekend. Tomorrow, I'll bring in his information about
the valve that we have at home. The LVAD
is supporting the left side of his heart well and the right side is working
well on it's own.
PT came and he moved to the chair and did some
exercises. Then we walked. We did both the big loop and the smaller one,
so about 500 feet. He did well. He had part of a protein milkshake, then went
back to bed. He is tired.
This afternoon will be busy.
Jen and Mick will be here for our first two hour training.
