Thursday Evening
I think we are finally on top of pain. John slept on and off from 9 till about
4. Then some pudding which he
liked. He really perked up at 4 and we
moved him to his chair. His pain meds
are now scheduled, so we don't wait too long and let it get too bad. He got his last dose at 5 and will get
another at 9.
The electrophysiologist interrogated his defibrillator and
made some changes that they usually make to patients with LVADs. His oxygen was
removed today, and he is breathing well without it. His feeding tube was
accidently pulled out twice, both times getting back to bed. The first time was very painful putting it
back in place, he didn't feel it the second time. Both times he had to have an
x-ray to make sure it was put back properly.
For dinner he had a pureed chicken and gravy for
dinner. He ate about a quarter of it, so
that was good for his first meal, then more pudding for desert. We are hoping for a better night sleep
tonight.
