Sydney & Charlottetown
10.19.2014
Saturday, we were in Sydney, Nova Scotia. It was a dreary day, lots of fog and rain. Wind as well.
We were looking for two specific shops that we remembered from five
years ago and neither is still open. In
fact, there were a lot of empty buildings, a sad thing.
Ah, finally a day with no rain. The sun was out in short spells. We went to church in a beautiful Basilica in
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The
home of Anne of Green Gables. After
Mass, we walked the town and watched the end of a marathon and
half-marathon. The homes are in nice
shape, many of them old Victorians. Many
of the shops were closed, but we were able to visit a few. This is a vibrant, alive town, different in
that way from Sydney.
Tomorrow is an at sea day.
Then we will have a full day and night in Quebec City before leaving for
home.
