St John, NB
10.16.2014
Thursday we were in St John, New Brunswick and it was foggy,
foggy, foggy. We had an excursion for a
Hop-on Hop-off tour and did we mention it was foggy? The higher we got, the foggier it got. We took some pictures, but many of them just
show fog.
But, after dinner, we went to a cocktail party hosted by the
Commodore of the Fleet, the big guy, the head of all the Captains. In addition to him, we met the Chef of the Fleet
and he talked with us a bit. He has been
with Princess for 41 years! He is responsible for all the menus and food
preparation on all the Princess Ships. We talked to the head of the dining staff and
the head of the photo department, who spent a lot of time with us. He has a plan for his life. In several years, he will quit Princess to
take a 12-14 month trip around the world.
He is from a small town in Serbia and will start from there, crossing
Europe. He plans to cross from England
to Canada on ferries. Apparently there
is one from Britain to Iceland, another to Greenland and then another to
Canada. Then down to New York where he
will either rent or buy a motorcycle to cross the USA. He will be in Australia and Japan and then on
home to Serbia where he will start a photo business. He has been a air traffic controller and is a
pilot. Talk about someone who knows what
he wants to do and does it.
