April 11, 2022 Update

 

Hello everyone,

It is heartiversary day! Six years!  It seems so long ago and yet when we reread the blog entries from six years ago, it seems like yesterday.  All of the emotions of that day came flooding back.  As happy as we are that the last years have been so good, we spent last week hurting for our donor family.  Our guy was loved deeply by his mom and sister, and they miss him terribly.

We visited them in 2018 and 2019 with the idea that it would become a yearly event.  Then COVID came along and ruined our plans.  Being so immunosuppressed, it is really not safe or prudent to travel.  John sees his cardiologist on Wednesday and will ask him for guidance.

We are still not able to volunteer at Children’s Hospital.  Some of our Thursday morning group have gone back on different days and in other positions.  We may not be able to return, and we miss it and our friends.  We do ZOOM with the group on Thursday mornings and while it is not the same as in person contact, it is better than nothing.  John may get some toy repair work to do from home.
