November 7th, 2021 update
Hello all,
It has been
seven months since our last update and there haven’t been many changes. John had a third dose of the Moderna covid
vaccine on September 13th and we just received the results. The antibody levels are now positive. The
level is less than half of what non-compromised people achieve when vaccinated. Better but still not safe for John.
We have
stayed in our small bubble although we had hoped to go to Victoria in late
September, but the Delta variant came along and with it another spike. So, we cancelled that trip and will continue to
stay in our bubble.
Sadly, we
have missed three family weddings this summer that we would have loved to
attend. Photos and videos are nice, but it is just not the same as being there.
The upside
of having to stay at home is that the gardens and lawn have never looked
better. The downside of this is that the
water bill has never been higher!
All in all,
life is good. The transplant was over
2,000 days ago, a milestone John mildly celebrated. We are both relatively healthy and active;
what more can we ask for in today’s world?
Take care
and stay safe,
Colleen
& John
