Lots of fluid around the left lung again. Big discussion between doctors on what to do.  Dr April, the attending doctor today, seemed to want to drain the lung again today and keep me here until the draining was done.  Unknown duration.  The surgeon that did the transplant, Dr Smith, wanted the lung drained today and then home today.  His argument was that the draining could be done outpatient. There was a raging, but quiet, discussion outside of our door.  The upshot is that they compromised and will drain today and install a drain tube to a small apple sized bulb and maybe go home tomorrow.  The decision was done at about 10am, and they want 6 hours of no food or water before the procedure.  Then it turned out that there was so much fluid that they installed a 'pigtail' drain tube into the lung area and it is connected to a vacuum suction drain box.  Can't go home with this system, so now we are cooling our heels and twiddling our thumbs as there is no way of predicting how many days it will take to dry out the area.  The best laid plans, blah, blah, blah.  Should be used to it by now.  22nd day in here. 

We walked down to the Montlake Cut again today, which we can't do again until the drain tube is removed.   Sat in the sun and watched a few boats go by.  Then the big ocean going NOAA ship passed by.  Huge compared to the rest of the boats in the water. 

We want to do a shout out, a big thank you to Mick and Georgette for making our gardens completely weed free.  They look marvelous.
