RV Road trip 2024 South Idaho
Saturday we arrived in Burley, Idaho around 1pm. We met up with our donor family, Kristine and Melanie and their families. They supplied a lovely lunch. We visited with them for a few hours, then returned to our RV for a bit of a rest.
Later that day they came over to our place for dinner. We love this family so much. We talked a lot about Doonus, and learned more about his family and his life. Jared, Kristine's husband, barbequed boneless chicken thighs that were excellent. Colleen now has the recipe.
Melanie, Doonus' mother gave John a stuffed monkey. It spent the last few days of Doonus' life with him. What a selfless gift that was given to us. We told Melanie that if she ever needs it back, we would share it with her.
Sunday the family came over after lunch and we all went to the cemetery across the street and visited Doonus's grave. It is well cared for. We left a bouquet of peonies that we brought from home. They were a bit tattered, but still beautiful.
They left about 2:30 pm and came back later for dinner. Colleen's lasagna and garlic bread that we brought with us. There were six adults and Kristine and Jared's two daughters. Kristine brought a green salad as well as potato salad and baked beans left over from Saturday.
We had a truly marvelous two days. There is so much love flowing.

Reciprocal love and blessings between the families. Beautiful.
