Hello all,

We don’t have any news to write about.  We always do when we have news.  But we know that you have become addicted to following us so, we will give some little facts.

The group running things here are from CDC under the umbrella of Health and Human Services.  But they, individually, are drawn from different agencies.  One woman we talked to is with the Food and Drug Administration.  She is an inspector and travels, or travelled, overseas inspecting plants that make things for the USA.  She is from Arkansas and will need to self-quarantine for 14 days when she finally gets to go home.

We talked to a man from the Washington State COVID-19 Incidence Response Team.  He is on loan from the Department of Prisons and is more used to transporting prisoners. He was drafted to help with this.

These two cases show what a massive response that is being undertaken to stop this virus and keep everyone safe.  People are being drafted from all types of government agencies.  We certainly appreciate all of the efforts of these folks who will need to go home when this is done and self- quarantine themselves.  They won’t get to be with their families for the mandatory 14 days.  Their quarantine will start when they leave here, we believe. 

Enough of that.  The CDC gave all passengers blue masks for protection.  Even on the ship, where we were required to wear them any time we opened the door.  Here, we are required wear them anytime we open the door, and anytime we are out of our room.  We are able to walk the perimeter of the ‘compound’.  Prison if you prefer.  And most obey.  John has his N99 mask which is black and covers from under the chin to just below the eyes.  People stare; some ask; all admire.  We call it ‘Mask Envy”.  It’s fun.
