Lavorno, Italy, October 14, 2013
We were in a port today that we have never visited and
didn't spend a minute in it, Livorno, Italy.
We got on an early bus and went to the Cinque Terre, called the Italian
Riviera. We stayed there in 2005 and
were excited to revisit it. We had a
great tour guide today, which always makes an excursion good. We took a bus ride, walked through one of the
towns and then took a boat ride to another town. It was raining quite hard, so the photos we
hoped to take from the sea are not the quality we hoped for. Another boat ride to the town where we spent
most of our 2005 visit. We were able to
find the hotel we had stayed at, the pizza place where we learned that a
pepperoni pizza in Italy has cheese and peppers only, and a couple of other
places remembered. Then it was a train
ride to the busses to head back to the ship.
Only, this is Italy, and the train was 40 minutes late. We didn't get back to the ship until 45
minutes after it was scheduled to leave.
Late to dinner!
Rome tomorrow, on our own.
