Two days in Cabo San Lucas
We arrived in Cabo around noon on Easter Sunday. We attended Mass said by a priest from Malta on board the ship. Then we went into town with Chris and Jennica and walked through the shops looking for our usual collectables. And….we found both. In addition, we bought an icon of Mary and Jesus. The shop had a large selection, an oddity in this part of the world. But, the sign above the shop door said they had shops in Athens, Rhodes and Cabo. So the icon likely came from the Mediterranean where they are commonly found.
On the second day, we took an excursion that had us meeting our group at 7AM. Why did we sign up for that early of an excursion? We asked ourselves the same question. It was a trip to Todos Santos, a village up the west coast of the Baja Peninsula. It has one claim to fame. The Hotel California of the Eagles song is located there. The trip was about 90 minutes, partly because of lots of roadwork. The highway is becoming four lanes and they are bridging the arroyos that flood in the rainy season.
Finally a trivia breakthrough. We won with 15 correct answers out of 20. We usually have been right 14 to 16 times out of 20, so the other groups fell back, we didn’t improve. Still, we got little keychains with flashlights in them.
We tried to add two pictures, but failed. One was of the ship's large display of Easter goodies and the other was of the Hotel California.
