She's a bad, bad girl!
Colleen was a bad girl multiple times today on our trip to Quebec City where we will board the Crown Princess for our cruise up the St. Lawrence seaway and then down the east coast to Florida. It will be a similar trip to the one we took last fall, but starts in Quebec City, not Montreal. It skips some ports we visited last year and goes to others. We'll try to post after each port.
Back to the bad girl. Anyone that has flown since 9/11 knows that all liquids must be smaller than 3 ounces and they must all be in a quart size ziplock bag. Easy, we are used to doing it. We did it leaving Seattle, but in Toronto, where we changed planes, Co used some makeup items and then proceeded to disperse them throughout various locations; her purse, makeup bag, etc. We wondered why it took so long when our bags were being scanned in Toronto before our second leg. Then, after the pilot announced that all earphones needed to be stored for takeoff, the flight attendant came by and, somewhat snottily, told her to remove them. And again, when we were about to land, the same thing happened. She is growing up to be such a little rebel!
There was snow on the ground when we arrived in Quebec City and it was pretty brisk out. We left our French phrase book at home and of course, our cab driver only spoke French. However he was able to say "thirty two-fifty" in English!!
It is such a pretty city, at least in Old Town, and we walked about for a bit before finding a little place for dinner. Very few neon signs, menus in French, snow on the ground, and a public outdoor ice skating rink across from the hotel. Quite a pretty scene. We'll walk around some more in the morning and the get on the ship around noon. We'll come back to town after lunch. We stay overnight on the ship in Quebec City and then have two excursions Saturday before sailing Saturday night.
