4.01.2018 At sea
We are on the Emerald Princess in the mid Pacific Ocean on
the way to Hilo Hawaii. Hilo is the
first of eight stops on this cruise.
There will be five consecutive days at sea first though. On the way back there will be eight days in a
row at sea.
The Port Authority in Los Angeles really did a thorough job of
inspecting our carryon bags. They
confiscated our mini bottles of alcohol that we had left from the last cruise. But the big thing was the confiscation of
Colleen’s heating pad. But the good news
is that she went to Passenger Services and convinced them that is was necessary
and not a fire hazard. She argued that
it was new and that it actually was safer that the curling iron that she always
has. Happiness reigns!
We have six table mates at dinner, all very nice. The table is perfectly situated for Johns
needs to avoid coughs and sneezes. Other
than our table mates, he is in contact with no one else, which is important
when he takes his mask off.
We saw a comedian last night, tonight is a magician, we’re
just getting warmed up for trivia, maybe the next game will be better.
Colleen and John
