Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas.  Been here several times before and it grows bigger all the time.  Today we had probably the best excursion ever.  It was simple enough, just three parts to it.  After driving north toward Todos Santos, we went to a place called San Cristobal and got off the bus and onto 4 wheel drive vehicles made by Mercedes for the Swiss Army.  They had a pretty rough ride, a "Mexican massage" according to our guide.  Probably the best guide ever.  We were driven to an area just above a cliff that ran along a dry arroyo.  We had a nature walk while Denny told us about all the different cacti and other plants, some that are so poisonous that they kill cattle and horses.  (The dumb ones.)  We saw a stunning hummingbird, a violet sabrewing.
Then we drove a bit farther and got onto camels for a ride along the beach.  Two per camel.  Roped together.  Led by a man on foot.  Hopefully we can attach a picture to this.  It was great fun, but easy to see why they call them the ships of the desert.  Rocking and rolling, not a smooth ride at all.
Then lunch, a terrific lunch.  Quesadillas, a cactus salad, refried beans, chicken mole, corn, a taco filling with ground beef, potatoes and a tangy sauce.  Tortillas of course.  Beer and tequila if you wanted it.  Truly a marvelous meal.
Loreto tomorrow and hopefully another posting.
