Dubrovnik, Croatia

Sunday, October 27th, 2013

We spent the morning and early afternoon in the Old Town today.  And we did exactly what we did last time we were here!  Are we dull, or what?  We walked the 1.5 miles around the walls of the city, but we think that with the amount of steps ascended to get to the top of the walled city, that we walked the equivalent of about 5 miles.  John ran completely out of breath several times and needed to stop for rest.  That is different from the last time.  Maybe they added steps!  It does seem as if they raised the height of the walls along the walkways and that made Co more comfortable.

Tourism is big in Dubrovnik and today was not a disappointment with five ships either docked or anchored.

Being a Sunday and 94% of the people in Dubrovnik are Catholic, we had no trouble finding a Mass to go to.  Seats were at a premium though and we stood.  The language was different, and we have no idea what the sermon was about, but we could follow pretty well.

Then we just walked through the town and window shopped and people watched.

Tomorrow we will be in Corfu and have an excursion to a monastery and a seaside village along with a couple of churches.
