Aruba 2011

Aruba.  Low, no hills to speak of, dry, and…we have been here several times.  We chose not to take an excursion, but walked around the town in the morning.  The ship left at noon, or rather, the ship was scheduled to leave at noon.  Some passengers were 30 minutes or more late.  We saw a passenger get on with her luggage, so we guess that she missed the sailing in Ft Lauderdale on Tuesday.  Rotten way to start a vacation!

As usual, we hunted for Christmas ornaments, though we have several from Aruba.  We also look for decorative wine bottle stoppers at our ports.  No luck with either item.  Cartagena, tomorrow’s port in Columbia, should be more fertile.

The ship never feels full.  The elevators are quick and seldom full.  This is very unusual on a ship, but very welcome.  The buffet is never crowded and seats are always found easily.
