Multiple headlines possible today!!

Hi all,

Possible headlines are:

Four year old twins assure us all future flights will be quieter!

Lost luggage = blown diet plans

Cold showers are better than no showers…right?

OK, here is what happened. When we arrived at the gate at Sea-Tac airport, United personnel were announcing a full flight and no room in the overhead storage for all bags. (Airbus plane!!) They asked for passengers to check their carry on luggage at no charge, assuring that they would arrive with the plane at the final destination. Being graceful, helpful sorts, we allowed our bags to be checked through to London. Yup, you guessed it, the two carry on bags did not arrive at Heathrow and won’t until 10:30pm Tuesday. Then, they will be delivered to us at our condo, around noon on Wednesday! Now realize, or imagine, that Co has a plan for John’s low sodium diet needs. She planned to make potato soup today, Tuesday, to last until we are on the ship on Saturday. The newly checked bags had potatoes and onions and spices in those bags, as well as underwear. (The chicken broth did make it in the big checked bag because it was liquid.) And the peanut butter that was an issue in Seattle is lost.

The first leg of the trip, from Seattle to Washington, DC had twins from down under in the row in front of us. By down under, we mean Satan’s realm. They fought, cried and argued all trip, traveling with dad only. Dad only tried to quiet them when they were laughing. Odd. All future trips will be better, quieter, by comparison. We won’t forget, promise.

Trying to find the two missing bags made us late. We had the week planned. Notting Hill, Paddington station, Camden Town Market and the London Eye, (a massive ferriswheel) today while we acclimated to the time change as well as cooking the potato soup. Tomorrow, we planned to go to Windsor to see the Queen. She didn’t know we were going to drop by, so she won’t be mad at the change of plans. We’ll just swing by on Friday and she will never know. Upshot of all of this is that we had lunch at a McDonalds today. Great ambience, kitty corner from Big Ben, pigeons all around, a slight drizzle to make us feel at home. About 1640 mgs of sodium, John’s big issue. He tries to limit himself to 1500 mgs a day. Maybe a bit of fat and cholesterol as well.

OK, the condo is kinda nice, right on the Thames, near Big Ben. Checked in, and left to sightsee for a few hours, since we couldn’t make soup. Came back very tired and headed for the shower. The very, very cold shower. John went first and after his report, Co took a sponge bath with water heated on the stove. WE BETTER HAVE HOT WATER TOMORROW, Monday night we were on the plane, Tuesday was a quick wash. We need showers tomorrow!

The photo is of Big Ben and Houses of Parliament from our window!
