Colleen has a pet peeve. She hates to see used plastic flossing tools that are discarded onto the street, parking lots, anywhere in public. A few days ago, we saw one on the carpet outside the Explorers Lounge hallway. So, we knew that someone on board was, well, uncouth. Then John was on an elevator with a man who was sawing away in his mouth with the same shaped of flosser. It’s probably good that Colleen was not there!!
This ship
has more ADA refinements than any other we have been on. Public bathrooms have been cut into two with
one side now having a larger, wheelchair width doorway. There is a ‘voice from above’ in most of the
elevators that announces ‘going up’ or ‘going down’ three times before the
doors close. This is an older ship that
has been retrofitted since we were last on her in 2017. These are good things.
John has
been having trouble inserting photos into blog posts through the blog
site. He just discovered that if he writes
the blog in WORD, add the photo, and then copies into the blog site, that he can
add photos. Testing at the bottom of the
page.
Last night
was the Cartain’s cocktail party, a way for Princess to thank those that have cruised
15 times or 150 days. They honor the
three travelers with the most days aboard Princess ships. The top person has 1863 days total. For comparison
we have just over 600 days at sea.
It was a
nice evening for us. We got to talk with
Sandra and Sandeep, two employees that we have known for a long time. Both have been very good to us over time. Sandeep is the bar manager and Sandra is the
Food and Beverage Director. She is
retiring after 29 years with Princess to go home to Portugal to help care for her
mother. We will miss her.
