03.09.2020 final post for today
Hello everyone,
Tomorrow is voting day in our state. We are unable to vote as Washington State
used mailing ballots and we did not receive ours before we left on this
cruise.
It has been a beautiful day in the Bay Area. It has been a long time since we had our
cabin door open, but it is open this evening.
It is nice to be able to visit with our neighbors. Our neighbors, above and one cabin over will
be traveling to London tomorrow night. We
have all been given very flimsy masks that we are required to wear when opening
our door or leaving the ship when we are called. We gave them two N95 masks from our supply,
since they will be traveling the most distance.
They lowered a set of ear phones, which we tied to the masks, so they
could get them to their cabin.
The Canadians are off the ship and on their way home in a
chartered plane. That plane will turn
around and come back tomorrow. It will
then be cleaned, sanitized, and fly the 142 Brits home tomorrow.
Wine has been sent up in a series of containers. First day, in wine glasses. Then in tumblers, followed by fruit juice glasses. Just now in coffee cups. Are passengers hoarding/keeping the glass
ware or is the dishwashing are really far behind? Maybe things will show on for sale on eBay. “Authentic items from the ill-fated journey
of the Grand Princess”. We have coasters
that say Grand Princess, which we won at trivia on this journey. A full set of
eight, great for any party. Only sold as
a set. There would be no minimum bid,
but a fairly high reserve. But, y’all (practice
for Texas or Georgia) can get them at a bargain. Let the bidding start!
The sunset photo has the Bay Bridge in the foreground and
the Golden Gate in the background.
The photo of the coffee cups are to show what wine was
delivered in at dinner this evening.
It is now 9:15 and the captain just announced that disembarkation
is over for the day. It will resume at
8:30 in the morning. We do not have
luggage tags so we know that we will not be off early.
More tomorrow. But if
we have to leave in a hurry, we may not post before. We will post as soon as possible.
Colleen and John
