LVAD info online
Hi all,
Today we went to the monthly Heart Transplant support group meeting and we learned more about the limitations imposed once the LVAD is in place. John will be in the hospital for 10-14 if normal and not be allowed to drive for three months. We thought that a mask would be required but that is not the case unless there is some abnormality. John will be able to continue volunteering at Children's Hospital because he doesn't interact with kids. He will probably need to take a break from volunteering at the grade school library. Lots of interactions with kids there. We heard about a great website that has nice explanations of LVADs. mylvad.com Very simple and easy to understand. Our next appointment is with the physicians assistant on June 11th. We also will go to LVAD 101, a class given by a nurse and we will learn much more.
