Dentist & Electrophysiologist
On Saturday, John went to the dentist as the UWMC asked him to do. The UWMC wanted or needed a report that John didn't have any oral problems like infections or bleeding. For the first time in memory, John had a clean bill of health from the dentist. No bleeding or puffy gums or pockets. No lecture about flossing more or brushing more. "Keep up what you are doing and add rinsing with Listerine and you should stay OK". Yippee! That was a great day.
Today, Monday, we had an appointment with the regular cardiologist, who is also an electrophysiologist. (Possibly he is primarily an elecrophysiologist.) The pacemaker that was implanted in early December is working correctly and there haven't been any shocks since it was put in. He is totally in favor of the transplant and will be calling the UW cardiologist to encourage her. He was very happy with John's report of feeling better and with his examination of John. Our next scheduled appointment with him is at the end of April.
Tomorrow we are going to be flying to Spokane for the day to visit Sister Rita Louise, John's older sister who is the Abbess of the cloistered convent of the Poor Clares. Spokane is more than three hours from Seattle, so once on the transplant list, we won't be able to visit her. Then on Saturday we are going on a short, seven day cruise with some special people, down the west coast of Mexico. We fly to LA and get onto the Sapphire Princess which will take us to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. It may be our last cruise for some time, and we are looking forward to it.
Our next medical report will be after February 11th, but we'll post our travel log from warm and sunny Mexico.
