Clean Medical Report

Hi Everyone,

We are elated today! John had a colonsocopy this morning and there were no signs of the colitis that plagued him for several years. And, no polyps. It doesn't get much better than this. Well, except for having colonoscopies once or twice every year, or two years at the most. This was the one test that we feared the most. John has shown signs of colitis and polyps in past colonoscopies, and the results, if bad, could scuttle the transplant. Now, we think the last issue is the report of the dentist. The UWMC wants to be sure that there isn't an infection in the mouth. They are so very thorough. We will see the dentist tomorrow morning.

On Monday, we will see the electrophysiologist, the cardiologist for the pacemaker/defibrillator and then back to the UWMC on Feb 11th. There we will see our transplant cardiologist and one of the three transplant surgeons. The reason for the meeting with the surgeon is for him to learn what obstacles he might encounter. For example, John has wires going into his heart for the pacer and has five metal wires/bands through the sternum from the valve replacement in 1996.
