Monday Morning

Good morning.  I made it through traffic this morning and arrived about 6:45.  Yesterday it took us about 40 minutes to get here, today it was closer to an hour.  John was up and getting his morning meds.  It was a pretty noisy night, his roommate was having pain issues.  But that is behind us because we moved him into a private room which will be his through surgery tomorrow until he gets moved to 5 NE just prior to discharge.  We went for a nice walk this morning and ordered his breakfast.

Dr Mokadam, the surgeon, came in to visit.  I think he was surprised to find out that the balloon pump was not put in yesterday.  We were delighted because if they had, John would have had to lie flat until the surgery 48 hours later.  He spent most of yesterday sitting up and walking around.  We got the impression that he will be getting the balloon pump today, we suggested later in the day, the doctor suggested the earlier, the better.  I think he will probably get his way.  Whatever is best for John is what we want.
