Hello from the open seas near Honduras.  Our embarkation was uneventful, actually very easy, in Galveston.  We are at an early dinner table for six, our preference, with two other nice couples.  It is always easier on conversations when the table is smaller.  Tables of eight or more always seem to have multiple conversations going. 

 

We had a lunch today with the Captain and Senior officers as part of the “Most traveled passengers”.  They take roughly 40 passengers with the most days with Princess.  It was the first time we have made the grade.  It was a terrific meal and we sat with the Cruise Director, Lisa, and really learned a lot about the operations of the staff, hiring policies, how long the contracts usually are, that sort of thing.  Upon entering the venue, we had our photo taken with Captain Andrew Proctor, and by the time we left, 90 minutes later, the picture was delivered to us.

 

One of our main reasons for choosing this cruise is that we will see the top four Princess entertainers and voting for the Entertainer of the Year 2012 at the end.  We have seen three acts and we agree on their order.  We will see the last one tomorrow night after our day in Roatan, Honduras.  Before we vote on Friday, we will have seen each entertainer twice.

 

We are taking an excursion in Honduras tomorrow with the title of “Botanical Garden, Cultural Show and Seaside Village”.  It has an early start, but we will be back at the ship around 12:30PM.  The ship will leave all three of our ports at 5 PM, which is earlier than most departure times.

 

We started doing something that we have never done before, but should have been doing.  We are going to the gym and working out on the treadmills, so far each of the port days.  We tend to walk a lot on port days.
